The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant in relation to the hit and run accident involving JoJo Green, 7-year-old on Kings Creek Road August 19, 2022. At approximately 5 AM this morning, August 23, 2022, The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office executed the search warrant at 927 Technology Dr., Triadelphia, WV, with their SRT team and was assisted by members of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office. The motorcycle believed to be involved in the accident was recovered along with the broken headlight which was already taken off the motorcycle.
There has also been an arrest warrant issued for Paul White of Weirton in connection with the hit and run. There was information that Mr. White was staying at the residence in Ohio County where the search warrant was served but he was not there at the time. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking Mr. White and asks if anyone has any information, please contact the office at 304-564-3911 or through the Hancock County 911 Center at 304-564-4100 or by using the tip line.
Sheriff Gittings would like to thank Sheriff Tom Howard and the Ohio Sheriff’s Office investigators, and SRT team for their quick response to our request for assistance in this matter. Also, a thank you to the Weirton Police Department and Chief Kush. There were many members of the Weirton Police Department that assisted on the day of the accident and the days following by assisting with getting information and going along the possible routes of the fleeing motorcycle to see what video may have been available. Sheriff Gittings commends his deputies that were actively working the case, chasing down leads and speaking to everyone that gives us information on the case. They worked swiftly and thoroughly. Mainly, we would like to thank the citizens of the county that gave information on the case. Many tips were inconclusive, but it is good to know that people still care enough to call and let is know of the possibility.
