CLOAK & DAGGER HOLMES & WATSON RETURN IN SATURDAY MATINEE

Weirton, WV—Holmes & Watson return to the Top of WV Convention & Visitors Bureau at 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023, with Cloak & Dagger On the Air presents Holmes & Watson in “Beryl Coronets & Copper Beeches.” Admission is free, although donations are greatly appreciated. Doors open at 3:30 pm with live music by R.J. Gaudio, Troubadour, who will perform pop, rock, and folk music favorites. Light refreshments will be available. The program will also livestream from The Ohio Valley Cloak & Dagger Facebook page starting at 3:30 pm. “Holmes and Watson are perennial audience favorites,” said Pete Fernbaugh, Cloak & Dagger’s artistic director and head writer, “and we couldn’t be more excited to kick off our sixth season with the engaging chemistry of John E. Reilly as Sherlock Holmes and Robert J. Gaudio as Dr. Watson. This episode also marks the final installments in our ongoing adaptation of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. We started working through these stories back in November of 2018 with ‘The Adventure of the Speckled Band.’ It’s quite fulfilling to reach the end…of this book anyway.” “In the fall,” Fernbaugh said, “Cloak & Dagger On the Air will begin presenting adaptations of the second collection of Holmes stories, The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes.” This month’s cast includes Sheila Cavalette, who is making her first appearance on Cloak & Dagger On the Air, Rob DeSantis, Bethany Fernbaugh, Pete Fernbaugh, Robert J. Gaudio, Noah Hilton, Jalen Mccrary, Karissa Martin, Ralph Parissi, Abby Perry, Terri Perry, John E. Reilly, and Savannah Schroll Guz, with a score arranged and performed by classical pianist Roberta Fedoush. Also featured on the show will be an original sketch titled Emily Penelope’s Fabulous Flights of Fancy, written by Fernbaugh and starring one of the troupe’s youngest members, Abby Perry. The sketch is modeled after the daily 15-minute children’s programs from the Golden Age of Radio. Top of WV CVB is located at 3539 Main Street in Weirton, W.Va. Ample parking is available behind the building, where there is also an entrance. Individuals with mobility impairments may more easily enter through the building’s front entrance. Cloak & Dagger On the Air is a monthly theatrical series from The Ohio Valley Cloak & Dagger Company that celebrates audio drama from all eras, particularly the fabled Golden Age of Radio. By reimagining classic radio dramas and literary works, along with presenting original stories written and produced by independent writer and actor Pete Fernbaugh, Cloak & Dagger On the Air strives to give audiences an immersive experience that engages the theatre of their imagination in creating a fully realized storytelling adventure. The Cloak & Dagger On the Air podcast completes the experience by presenting these stories in the way they were meant to be seen: by the mind’s eye.
