Margaret “Peggy” Adkins, 80, of New Cumberland, passed away May 25, 2023.
Born May 15, 1943, in Weirton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Nancy (Clark) Drake.
Peg graduated from New Cumberland High School. She was a former caregiver of HAPP Enterprise, a Charter member of the N.V.F.D. Auxiliary and a member of the Nessly Chapel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pearley Adkins; four brothers, Kenny, Marvin, Dean and Gary Drake; two sisters, Jeanette Hanst and Wanda Drake.
Surviving are a daughter, Cindi (Gary) Chamberlain of Florida; a son, Pearley “Brov” (Linda) Adkins of New Cumberland; two grandchildren, Zack and Logan Chamberlain; a brother, Tom Drake of Follansbee; and four sisters, Patricia Duncan of Weirton, Francis Duvall of Richmond, Jackie Fish of Chester and Brenda Clark of New Cumberland.
Visitation will be held today, Saturday, May 27th, from 5-7pm, at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV, where funeral service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
Interment will be held in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell, WV.
