OBITUARY: VICKI WEDGEWOOD Vicki L. Wedgewood, 69, of Chester, passed unexpectedly, on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at East Liverpool City Hospital. Born, on June 29, 1954, in East Liverpool, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Joann Wycoff McDevitt. She was a 1972 graduate of Oak Glen High School. Vicki earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from West Liberty University and later earned her master’s degree from Youngstown State University. Vicki retired from Beaver Local School District in 2005, where she taught third grade at West Point Elementary.  She had an incredible passion for public education and enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a professional educator. Vicki was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester. A devout catholic who led by example, she served at the Gabriel House in New Cumberland and Chester-Newell FISH Foundation.   Family was the most important aspect of her life and she worked tirelessly to provide for those she cared about. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren. She was a kind-hearted and deeply caring individual who devoted her life to helping others. During the 90’s Vicki and her husband Gary organized the Northern Hancock Little League, and she proudly took care of every little detail for the program.She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Gary Wedgewood; daughter, Deanna Bellville and her husband, Greg; son, Ed Wedgwood; brother, Greg McDevitt; grandchildren, Finn and Ty Bellville and nieces, Kaitlyn Crane, and Faith McDevitt. Father John Neiman will preside over Catholic Funeral Rites at Arner Funeral Chapel, on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with her family, on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Arner Funeral Chapel, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. The Rosary will be recited Wednesday, at 7:30 PM. A memorial mass will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Gabriel House, 1016 Ridge Rd. New Cumberland, WV. 26047 and Chester-Newell FISH Foundation.
