Reading Nook by Kirsten Pierce

Swaney Memorial Library’s 2020 fall story hour “Read Together” has begun. We meet at 4:30 p.m. every Wednesday and post our online story hour immediately after, although it usually takes a while to load. We do still have a couple of craft bags left if you’d like to join us. Just stop in the library and pick one up!
We are still offering free wi-fi and the WV KidsConnect Initiative extended free wi-fi service with no time limits or password required. You can use your device to log on inside the library during our regular hours or outside from the parking lot before we open or after we close.
October is Global Diversity Awareness Month and you can stop in the library and check out some great books on global diversity, from autism to how people in other countries live, because we’re all “The Same, Same But Different.”
Top of West Virginia Art’s Council is now showing art in our local libraries again! We are pleased to announce that Bob Watson is Swaney Memorial Library’s featured artist. Come in and check out his beautiful paintings. They are very reasonably priced and make great Christmas gifts!
