We are currently collecting donations of canned goods for the New Cumberland Food Closet. They can be placed in the tote on the library’s front porch. The Yellow Ribbon Girls also have a box at the library for donations of plastic bags they use to make items that are sent to our troops. Donations are always welcome!
Swaney Memorial Library’s fall story hour Read Together is doing well. If you’re interested in joining, we meet at 4:30 every Wednesday (except November 11th) at the library. You can also watch the videos online on the library’s face book page.
We will be closed on Wednesday, November 11th, for Veteran’s Day and on Thursday, November 26th, and Friday, November 27th, for Thanksgiving. We continue to offer free wi-fi services through WV Kids Connect 24/7, whether we are open or closed.
Top of West Virginia Art’s Council is now showing art in our local libraries again! We are pleased to announce that Bob Watson is Swaney Memorial Library’s featured artist. Come in and check out his beautiful paintings. They are very reasonably priced and make great Christmas gifts!
