Board of Education

The Hancock County Board of Education learned that tax collections for the first three months of the 20/21 fiscal years are up 50 % at Monday’s meeting. Chief Financial Officer Joe Campinelli told the Board that collections for the first three months are at the same level they were last year after six months.
In other business, the Board took action on the following personnel issues:
**Approved a leave of absence for Melissa Pietranton, third grade teacher, New Manchester Elementary;
**Approved Paula Cain as a third grade teacher at New Manchester;
**Accepted the resignation of Paul Buffington as Assistant Basketball Coach;
**Assigned Brandis Kosonovich as Assistant Swimming Coach at Oak Glen High;
**Transferred Tiffany Givens from Cook III, Central Kitchen, to Supervisory Aide II-IV/AM, Allison Elementary;
**Accepted the resignation of Anthony N. Makricosta as Custodian II, Weir High, and Bruce Walker, Custodian II at Oak Glen High. Both men are retiring;
**Transferred Scott Mellott from Substitute Aide to Supervisory Aide II-IV/AM, Weir High;
**Scheduled meetings for November 9 at 5 p.m. and Nov. 23 at 5 p.m.
