Kathleen “Katie” Moffitt, 80 of East Liverpool passed at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh on Thursday, December 31, 2020, following a brief illness.
A daughter of the late Steve and Laura Smith Paradinovich, Kay was born Newell on March 26, 1940.
A Catholic by faith and a member of Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius in East Liverpool, she worked as a self-employed day-care provider for children for many years. Kay’s house was that neighborhood house where all the kids hung out and were always welcome. Compassionate and welcoming, she was a mother figure to many children, providing a positive, and friendly influence. Kay was a 1959 graduate of the former Wells High in Newell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe, and John Paradinovich; and her sisters, Laura Marshall, and Rosalie Paradinovich.
Kay leaves her husband Robert “Bob” Moffitt who she married on January 14, 1963; her sons, Timothy Moffitt of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., Robert Patrick “Pat” Moffitt of Philadelphia, PA., and David Neal (Doris Smith) Moffitt of East Liverpool, and her daughter-in-law Peggy Shreve of East Liverpool. There are three grandchildren, Heather, Dustin, and Stephanie Shreve of East Liverpool, and four great-grandchildren, Dillon, Kenneth, Rowyn, and Rory.
