ALBERT “JOHNIE” LEASURE, 98, of Weirton, WV passed away Friday March 5, 2021 at Weirton Geriatric Center. He was born December 24, 1922 in Doddridge County, WV, son of the late Silas and Bessie Gorby Leasure. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Thelma V. Underwood Leasure (2005); 2 brothers and a sister.
Johnie was a member of Weirton First Church of the Nazarene and Weirton Steel 25 Year Club. He was a World War II Army Veteran stationed in the South Pacific. He retired from the Tin Mill at Weirton Steel Corporation.
He is survived by his daughter, Lola Little (Denny) of New Cumberland, WV; sons, Albert C. Leasure (Roxann) of West Union, WV and Thomas H. Leasure (Rosemary) of Center Point, WV; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great- great-grandchildren; brother, Ernie Leasure (Jerilyn) of Parkersburg, WV and brother-in-law, Junior Underwood (Louise) of East Liverpool, OH.
Visitation will be Wednesday March 10, 2021 from 10:00AM until time of service at 2:00PM at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV with Pastor Brian Richardson and Pastor Larry Barkley presiding. Entombment will take place at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens.
