Invitation to Bid
The Hancock County Commission is looking for qualified contractors to bid on a roofing replacement on the Hancock County Storage Building located on Gas Valley Road, New Cumberland, WV. Requirements for the bid include a Bid Bond (certified check or a bidder’s surety company bond) in the amount of 10% of the bid shall accompany each bid. Bidders may withdraw or modify their bid up to one hour before the time of the opening. After which, Bidders may not withdraw their bid for a period of 60 calendar days. The work to be performed under this contract shall commence within fifteen (15) calendar days following the issuance of the “Notice to Proceed”.
The successful contractor shall be required to:
Provide three (3) references for similar jobs
Produce a valid and current West Virginia General Contractors license
Comply with all provisions of the Federal Occupations Safety and Health Act and Equal Employment Opportunity Act
Comply with the Copeland (Anti-Kickback) Act
Comply with the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act
Comply with the Equal Employment Opportunity Act of 1972
Comply with the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988
Furnish a Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price and a Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of contract price, issued by a responsible surety company, licensed to do business in the State of West Virginia, and drawn to fully protect the Owner. Should the successful bidder fail to furnish said bonds and execute the required contract within 15 days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed, the 10% certified bid check or bid bond will be forfeited to the Owner.
The Owner reserves the following rights:
To reject any and all bids
To waive any informalities in awarding the contract
To hold the awarding of the contract for 60 days
To seek the lowest responsible bid
To exercise sole and complete discretion in making a contract award
Packets outlining the Scope of Work may be requested through the Hancock County Commission Office. Packets can be requested and picked up in person at the Commission Office, 3rd floor, 102 N Court St, New Cumberland, WV, or via email, at [email protected].
Bids will be accepted until April 15, 2021 at 4:00pm, with the bid opening to be April 16, 2021, no earlier than 2:00pm. The successful bid winners will be notified upon approval at the April 22, 2021 Commission meeting.
The Hancock County Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
