The modernization of the WV Secretary of State’s Office continues to take place with the announcement today of the newly completed online State Register Portal. According to WV Secretary of State Mac Warner, the State Register Portal is used to submit public information and other filings required by law for publication in the State Register. The new Portal allows participating agencies, counties, and municipalities to take advantage of state-of-the-art technology designed to make the Portal user-friendly and simple to navigate. “The goal of the new Portal is to make it as easy as possible for entities to comply with public disclosure and for the general public to be able to quickly access that information,” said Secretary Warner. “We have successfully made great strides to modernize our operations and this is one more example in how we are able to provide greater transparency for the public.” A tutorial of the new Portal can be found here. The State Register is a weekly publication that gives the public current information about the status of rules moving through the rule-making process, newly filed orders, decisions, and opinions by state agencies. The publication of this information and the new State Register Portal are managed by the WVSOS Administrative Law Division at the State Capitol. Inquiries regarding the State Register Portal can be made by email to [email protected] or by calling the Secretary of State’s Office at (304) 558-6000.
