OBITUARY: RAYMOND ROBINSON

Raymond J. Robinson, sixty-nine of New Cumberland passed at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh on Saturday, December 25, 2021, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born in Steubenville, OH., on March 13, 1952, he was the son of the late Richmond and Anna Rojak Robinson.

When Ray’s two grandchildren, Colton Charles and Emmy Rae were born, he discovered a love that he did not know was possible. Affectionately known as G-Pa, these two were the most important things in his life.

He was a longtime and highly active member of the New Cumberland Church of Christ, where he will be deeply missed. He was a 1970 graduate of Oak Glen High School. In retirement, Ray loved to golf and attend the “Breakfast Club” with his brother and friends at Connie’s Corner and L&B Donuts. In addition, he was always available to ride his grandchildren around on his big Farmall tractor which they dearly loved. He retired from the breaker gang at Weirton Steel where he was a member of the 25-year club.

His brother, Ronald Robinson also preceded him in death.

Ray married his wife, Barbara Howell Robinson on March 26, 1975, and together they are parents of Holly (Aric) Justice of Greensboro, NC., and Ginger (Cory) Donohoo of Wausau, WI., and of course the grandfather of his special grandchildren, Colton Charles, and Emmy Rae Donohoo. He was remarkably close to his brother, Gary (Patricia) Robinson of Chester, his aunt, Mary Dopudja, and cousins, Jon (Tina) Dopudja and Michael Dopudja of Chester, as well as many special friends.

Evangelist Ken Fleeman of the Church will celebrate Ray’s life at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Thursday, December 30 at 11:00 a.m. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., and Thursday one hour prior to the service.
