OBITUARY: MARGERY DILLON

Margery J. Dillon, formerly of New Cumberland, passed at her home in Cambridge on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was 86 years old.

Margery was born in Weirton on December 23, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Tope Henderson.

Margery was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family which includes 58 grandchildren. She retired from the Podiatry office of Jeffrey Wilps, DPM., in Weirton. She developed a special bond with Dr. Wilps who she thought of and treated as her own son. A graduate of Weir High School, Margery was a loyal and active member of the Paris church of the Nazarene. While living in Cambridge, she attended the Newcomerstown Church of the Nazarene where her son-in-law, Gerald Gray pastored.

Saddened by her loss is her husband, Argyle Dillon Sr. of Cambridge, her children, Argyle Dillon Jr., and his wife Marcy of Columbus, OH., Wanda Gray and her husband Gerald of Cambridge, Becky Freshour, and her husband Glenn of Sallisaw, OK., Sanda Bassett and her husband Allen of Brooksville, FL., and Larry Dillon and his wife Julie of Grapevine, TX., her brother, Mike White and his wife Ann of Weirton, and her special niece, Lugenia Porter and her husband Lawrence. Along with her parents, several sisters preceded her in death.

Pastors Joe Ryan of the church and her son-in-law, Gerald Gray will celebrate Margery’s life at the Paris Nazarene Church on Saturday, February 12, at 4:00 p.m. Family and friends will gather for a time of visitation at the church three hours prior to the service, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester is assisting with these arrangements.
