Weirton, WV – The Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce that a new art exhibition will be shown in the Summit Art Gallery presented by the Top of West Virginia Arts Council (TWVAC). The show will feature the Tuscarawas County Art Guild from New Amsterdam, Ohio and will display the artworks of approximately eight artists.

The Art Guild began over fifty years ago to provide artists of Tuscarawas County an opportunity to advance their creative skills. Art instruction became a key component to the guild and seminars and art history classes were added to the meeting agendas. The disciplines of pottery, photography, jewelry, and fine crafts were added to the curriculum.

The guild is a non-profit organization of people interested in the advancement of the fine arts. The membership consists of professional and amateur artists expressing themselves through a wide variety of media. The guild strives to promote public appreciation for the support of community involvement. The guild is supported by annual dues, commissions on sales from shows and outside contributions. The guild has made scholarship fund donations to local high schools for graduating seniors that are continuing their studies in visual arts.

Light refreshments will be served during the opening reception for the exhibition will be Friday, April 22, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Bob Watson, the TWVAC Event Chair for this show stated the show will be available for public viewing free of charge until Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the Summit Art Gallery.
