Kennedy McGeehan, a 17-year-old senior from New Cumberland, has been selected as Lions Scholar of the Month for April. The daughter of Mandy McGeehan and Patrick McGeehan, Kennedy is a Senior at Oak Glen High School
Kennedy was the Freshman and Sophomore Class President, Student Council Vice President, and currently Student Council President. During her time at Oak Glen, she has been a member of Culture Club, Key Club, Pep Club, and the Prom Committee. Kennedy is a two-year member of the National Honor Society and in the summer of 2021, she was selected to attend Rhododendron Girls State where she was voted Outstanding Citizen for Randolph Community.
During her senior year, Kennedy was voted onto Homecoming Court and Sadie’s Court. She has been actively involved in her community and was awarded the Lou Holtz 20 under 20 Award and the Team MOJO Shining Star award. Kennedy is a four-year varsity athlete of the cross-country team and two-year member of the track team. During cross-country, Kennedy was named “Performer of the Meet” at the Frankfort Invitational and a state qualifier. With track and field, she is an OVAC Champion and state qualifier for the 4×800 relay team.
After high school, she plans to continue her academic and athletic career at California University of Pennsylvania where she will be majoring in psychology.
