FOOD HANDLER CLASS MAY 2

The Hancock County Health Department will conduct a Food Handler Class at the Weirton Senior Center, 3425 Main Street, Weirton on Monday, May 2nd at 10 a.m.

The class is open to the public.  Any person involved in food service in Hancock County is required to possess a current Food Handler card.   The class is for volunteers as well as those employed in the food service industry.

The class is free, however, there is a $10 fee to receive a Food Handler Card good for one year.  A two-year card may be purchased for $20 and a three-year card for $30.

Food safety cannot be taken for granted.  Food employees must be educated about safe procedures such as personal hygiene, cross contamination and improper cooking and holding temperatures.

Payment for the on-line class may be made by using a credit care or “Pay Pal.”  Participants may also print the complete verification and pay the fee at the Hancock County Health Department during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  The office is closed from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. for lunch.
