The Hancock County Board of Education took a moment to hear about a school bus driver who went beyond her assigned duties to help out a student.  Superintendent Dawn Petrovich said she had a call from a parent who said that her son’s bus driver, Marge Apesos, discovered Friday  their son had left behind the homemade Mother’s Day card he had made in the school bus.    Apesos took the card to the student’s home after her bus run was concluded to make sure the youngster had the card to give to his mother.

The Board recognized the accomplishments of the Weir High School Future Business Leaders of America at the Spring Leadership Conference..  Sponsor Candice Dotson told the Board that the Club had flourished this year after the COVID pandemic toll its toll reducing membership to only four students.  She said that the club was still standing thanks to the students’ tenacity and that the Club members, “make us proud every day.”
