YOUR IMAGINATION STATION with Miss Connie

   Long May She Fly …..

Yesterday was such an emotional day for so many. May I offer my thanks, to those of you who served, who are serving, and who will serve, for your service to our country.  Memorial Day is a day to remember. And we, here at Lynn Murray Memorial Library, did just that. We remembered … with our flag dedication ceremony.

When I became the Director of Lynn Murray Memorial Library in May 2021, the first thing my husband said to me was, we need a flagpole and a flag. I didn’t have the time to get that accomplished last year for Memorial Day, but I did for this year. My husband was diligent in making the calls needed to start the process. The Bob Milby Chester VFW Post 6450 donated the money to purchase the flagpole, and provided us with both, the American Flag and a POW/MIA. My husband and son set the base and installed the pole. To all of you, I want to say thank you.

There was no better choice for a day for our dedication, than Memorial Day. We gathered around our flagpole and sign, to dedicate our new flying American flag. I led the ceremony, giving thanks to all who came for this special occasion, my husband, my staff, my board of directors, the Murray families, and Chester VFW. We then had a moment of silence for those who gave their lives for our freedom. Members of the VFW then raised our flag and saluted it, and we all joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.
