YOUR IMAGINATION STATION with Miss Connie

How’s everyone been? I just got back from our Library Fall Conference, and have so many things I wanna share with y’all. But first, let’s start with what we have coming up this month at Lynn Murray Memorial Library.

Sunday, October 16, at 2:00, will be our Adult Canvas Painting Class. The class will be lead by Sarah Cale, who has an art degree from WVU. The cost for the class is $25, which will provide you with a 16×20 canvas. All the supplies needed to do your project, will be provided. Call the library to register, at 304-387-1010. Light refreshments will be served.

Sunday, October 30, at 2:00, will be our Youth Canvas Painting Class. Again, the class will be lead by Sarah Cale, and this will be a 16×20 canvas as well. Please call to register your kiddos for a GHOSTLY time. The kiddos will also enjoy a snack.

Saturday, October 29 will be our second annual HARVEST BASH. 11:00 will be the party for Elementary aged students. We’ll have different stations for crafts, games and prizes. Be sure to wear your costumes. 5:00 will be the party for the Middle and High School students. They will come dressed up too, and will be doing Just Dance, with a black light and Karaoke. You know your teen won’t wanna miss this!

Saturday, October 22, Jennifer will be back to help those in need of direction concerning health insurance. She was with us last month, and helped several find a good plan. Let her help you with your needs. She’ll be here at 11:00 on the 22nd, and will be back one last time, November 19, with more help. Don’t miss that deadline for getting your insurance taken care of.

As usual, our Sit & Stitch group will continue to meet every Friday from 11-1 and again from 4-6. Consider joining us and get a winter project started. Build club still meets every Tuesday at 4 and Chess Club every Thursday at 4.

Storytime is back for the Fall Session. We meet every Wednesday from 10:30-11 for ages birth – 2 years old, and from 11:30–12:30 for kiddos who are 3-5 years old. Call to register, comment on our Facebook page, or just stop in on Wednesday. We’d love to have ya.

This year, we’re getting to spend time reading to ALL the students at Allison Elementary. I’ll be going there to read to PK, K and 1st graders, and 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders will be coming to the library for me to read to them and check out books. I am beyond excited to get this program up and running next week. I want to thank Mrs Hartung for helping this program.

Until next time, find a book and let your imagination take you places you’ve never been.
