On September 8, 2022, Nathanial Eugene Campbell, who was born on June 24, 2003, and was formerly from New Cumberland, West Virginia, entered guilty pleas to a total of five charges, including the following:(a) one count of “Distribution and Exhibiting of Material Depicting Minors Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct; (b)two counts of “Soliciting a Minor Via Computer:” (c)one count of “Employment and Use of a Minor to Produce Obscene Matter,” and (d) one count of Distribution and Display to a Minor of Obscene Matter.”
Steven E. Dragisich, Prosecuting Attorney of Hancock County, and Herman D. Lantz, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney of Hancock County, represented the State. Attorney Nicholas Yovich represented Campbell. The Honorable Jason A. Cuomo presided over the case.
The criminal charges against Campbell resulted from the diligent and thorough investigation completed by Sgt. Scott Little of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
The criminal charges against Campbell stemmed from incidents that occurred previously in New Cumberland; whereby Campbell had multiple images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on his cellular telephone, utilized his computer to repeatedly entice, solicit, and manipulate female minors to provide him with photographs of themselves for his sexual gratification, used and offered money to a female minor to provide him with sexually explicit images of said minor, and offered to send a female minor sexually explicit images of him.
On October 24, 2022, Campbell was sentenced to 2 to 10 years for “Distribution and Exhibiting of Materials Depicting Minors Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct,” 2 to 10 years for each count of “Soliciting a Minor Via Computer,” 10 years for “Employment or Use of a Minor to Produce Obscene Matter,” and 5 years for “Distribution and Display to a Minor of Obscene Matter.” Campbell will serve these sentences consecutively for a total cumulative sentence of 9 3/4 years to 45 years.
