CHESTER GARDEN CLUB

Chester – The October meeting of the Chester Garden Club was held at Chef Ray’s Cafe on Wednesday, October 26th.  President Susie Wilson led the group in The Pledge of Allegiance. Devotions Leader Donna Stevens read “The Garbage Truck” and “The Proper Way to Pray.”  She also led the group in “The Garden Club Prayer” and gave the blessing before the meal.

Paige Rayle read the minutes from the September meeting. Mary Ann Wright gave the treasurer’s report.

Susie Wilson reported that she and Paige Rayle had purchased and installed the fall decorations for the planters along Carolina Avenue. The group discussed buying additional fall decorations for next year.

Plans were made to decorate a Christmas tree for this year’s Festival of Trees in Chester. Jeanne Roberts and Susie Wilson will purchase ornaments and trim the tree.

The group will sell the club’s 2022 edition of its annual jigsaw puzzle titled “The Chester Teapot” at the festival for $20. “The World’s Best Dishcloth” will also be available for $2.50 each or 3/$7.00. These items also will be available at this year’s Hometown Christmas on December 3rd. Additionally they can be purchased at the Lynn Murray Memorial Library in Chester.

It was announced that the annual Christmas party will be held on December 6th at Ponderosa Golf Course at 1:00 PM.  Each member is to bring a five dollar gift for the gift exchange and a five dollar donation for FISH.
