The winners of New Cumberland’s Yard of the Month award for October are Brandon and Desiree May of Ridge Avenue. Their large yard was filled with dozens of scary decorations including monsters, skeletons, and dozens of handmade tombstones. Even the trees were decorated with cobwebs and big, black spiders. Several large inflatables stood in their side yard to celebrate the Halloween season. Their efforts earned the May family a framed certificate, a check, and a sign which will remain in their yard until December when the sign will be retired until the program starts again in the spring. The Yard of the Month program is a joint effort between the NC Volunteers and the city of New Cumberland. The committee would like to thank all the families in New Cumberland whose yards were nominated this season. Thank you for making the town shine a little brighter.
