MILITARY BANNERS TAKEN DOWN

The New Cumberland Military Banners Committee recently took down the military banners on display along the streets of New Cumberland.  A total of 103 banners were removed and are being cleaned and placed in storage until next spring.  In May of next year, the banners will be put back up and will remain there until Veterans’ Day next November.  This program to honor our local veterans is an ongoing project, and banners can be ordered at any time by picking up an application at the city building.  The cost is $140.00.  Five banners that recently arrived from the printer and were not put up along the streets are on display in the city building for the families to view.  They will be hung next spring with the other banners.  The committee would like to thank all the volunteers who braved the wind and cold to take down the banners:  Boe Cline, Howard Vulgamore, Chickie Skinner, George Hines, Benji Hines, Ed Fields, and Tim Staley.
