GREENLIEF LIONS DECEMBER SCHOLAR

Matthew Greenlief, 19, is the son of Keith and Cameo Greenlief, of Chester.             
 A Senior at Oak Glen High School, Matthew currently holds a 4.0 GPA.
 He is a member of the National Honor Society. During his sophomore year, he was chosen to represent Oak Glen in the Weirton Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Program. He was also invited to attend Boys State.
 Matthew is a four-year member of the Football team, earning First Team OVAC and All Area his Junior and Senior years as well as All State Honorable Mention. He has been nominated to play in the OVAC All Star and North South games in the summer.
 He is the first recipient of the Doug Smith award and the John Edwards Spirit of the Bear award.
 Matthew was a member of the basketball team his freshman and sophomore years and has refereed the OG Youth Basketball League for two years.
 He was a member of the Cross Country Team his junior year and was a regional and state qualifier.
Matthew is a four-year member of the Track Team.
 He is the 400 meter OVAC and Regional Champion for 2021 and 2022. He earned 3rd place State title in 2021 and 2nd place State title 2022.
 After Graduation Matthew will attend The Police Academy, then further that training with and education to work for the ATF or Air Marshall.
