Betty Casagranda, 94, of New Cumberland, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on January 24, 2023, while surrounded by her loving family.

Born November 19, 1928 in Burgettstown, PA, the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Stiffler) Murphy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Bob” Casagranda; a sister, Kathryn Colpo; two brothers, James Murphy and Daniel Murphy Jr.

Betty was a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Church and 30+30 Senior Group. She was an avid crocheter who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Surviving is her loving family, three daughters, Mary Jane Johnson of Arizona, Brenda (Jack) Porter of New Cumberland, and Nancy Folmsbee of Maryland; five grandchildren, Tony (Shelley) Murray, Jaclyn (Josh) Zdanek, Kyle Porter (Jailene), Abraham Folmsbee (Gabi) and Avalon Folmsbee; two great grandchildren, Taylor and Elana; a sister-in-law, Donna Joan Murphy.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday,January 27, 2023, at the Nixon Funeral Home, New Cumberland, WV, where funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday,January 28.

Interment will follow in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.
