Hancock County school officials are confident that the water the students are drinking is safe. Concern was expressed at last night’s Board of Education meeting after the train derailment in East Palestine recently.. Superintendent Dawn Petrovich pointed out that each school gets their water from a different Public Service District and that all Public Service Districts test the water regularly and report downstate.
Transportation director Chris Enoch explained that he had gone to a bus auction in Ohio County and picked up three buses for $30. The buses will be used for substitute buses and are newer than the buses currently on hand in the County.
Board members requested and were provided with a list of current IT work orders not completed..
The Board went into Executive Session to discuss the Superintendents Evaluation which will must be forwarded downstate by a specified time. The Board did not emerge from the Executive Session according to one Board member. No action was taken:

**Approved were Jonathan Velegol, Asst. Boys Tennis and Steve McConnachie, Asst, Girls Track. Both positions are unpaid volunteer,
**Tonia Witherow, supervisory aide, transportation, was approved one dock day;
**Tyler Hanilton was approved as a substitute custodian;

**Izabella Riddle was approved as a Supervisory Aide II-IV/AM, initial placement – K-4;
**Linda Nicoles was transferred from a Supervisory Aide IV/AM, New Manchester Elementary to Supervisory Aide IV (ECCAT AM)Weirton Elementary
