Weirton, WV – Bob Watson, a local artist, will be instructing a watercolor painting class with techniques that can be used to create still-life and landscapes. The class will be divided into two sessions: The first part will be an ink and watercolor still-life painting. The second part will be a landscape watercolor that will be based on a subject provided by the artist.
Techniques will include methods for protecting white space, gouging, scraping, and producing texture. Painting types will include simple and quick to more detailed works. Participants must be eighteen years of age or older.
Watson is a retired architect with a lifelong desire to draw and paint. He received signature membership in the Georgia Watercolor Society. Additionally, he is a member of the Top of West Virginia Arts Council, the Steubenville Art Association, The Pittsburgh Watercolor Society, and The West Virginia Watercolor Society.
The class is limited to 20 participants and will be held at the Summit Art Gallery located at 3539 Main St. Weirton on Saturday, April 1st, from 10:00 to Noon.
The cost is $35.00 with all supplies provided.
