HANCOCK TO SEEK NEW SUPERINTENDENT

The search for a new Superintendent of the Hancock County Schools has begun.  Current superintendent Dawn Petrovich’s contract was not renewed Wednesday night. The Board of Education emerged from a brief executive session and voted 4 to 1 to begin the search for a search for Petrovich’s replacement. .  Board member Larry Shaw was the sole Board member voting against the motion to go forth with the search.

“We appreciate the work Ms. Petrovich has done and thank her for service,” said Board President Chris Gillettee.  He said the Board had just decided to go in a different direction.

According to Gillettee the Board will first look internally to fill the post and only take the search external if they are unsuccessful in the internal search
