CHESTER GETS A NEW PATROLMAN

Chester Mayor acknowledged the stabbling which took place at Crazy Donkey Friday during Monday’s Council meeting. Wedgewood issued a plea that when there is a dangerous situation or an emergency residents should refrain from posting on Facebook. The individual who stabbed the owner is still at large and is to be considered armed and dangerous.

A new patrolman was sworn in by City Judge Kurt Parkins. Jonathan Creese, a Chester resident, who has never been in law enforcement will assume his duties once he has completed the West Virginia State Police Academy.

In other business, Council:

**Accepted receipts of 212,174.04 in the General Fund;

**Paid bills of $55,943.53 from the General Fund.

**Accepted receipts of $6,861 into the Building Fund:

**Paid bills of $500.00 from the Building Fund.

**Agreed to reimburse Donnie Murray for repairs to his tractor. Murray was assisting in the cleanup of City Park following recent rainstorms. It was also noted that there are trees which need to come down,;

**Voted to table a proposal from Morgan & Morgan, a law firm based in Florida. to serve as special counsel for a class action lawsuit on the recent Norfold Southern episode.

** Awarded the contract to Six Enterprises for work on the catch basins on Lycia Ave,

**Agreed to pay an invoice of $8,000.00 for Access Control from Biz Tech;

**Agreed to hold up on paying an invoice from Biz Tech as until problems are resolved;

**Wrote of Municipal Fees for George Gamerdinger, David McMichael and Gary Thayer;

**Agreed to purchase a grit machine for the water department;

**Heard from Building Supervisor Mike Dotson that the HVAC system is up and running
