CEOS SET MEETING

The next meeting of the Hancock County Community Educational Outreach Service will be held on Wednesday, June 7, at the Hancock County Senior Center on Gas Valley Road. A light lunch at 11 a.m. will be followed by the lesson at noon. The menu that day is hotdog/chili, with potato salad, drink, and dessert.

CEOS member and Master Gardener, Doris Musselman, will present the lesson, “The Possibilities of Plants.” Plants are a part of everything we do, including dyes and paper, soaps and deodorants, even disinfectants, brushes and adhesives. Participants will learn how to use plants beyond consumption and decoration, along with some of the history of alternative uses for plants, and a bit about the significance of certain plants in Native American culture.

As always, the public is cordially invited to attend the meeting. The lesson, friendship, and camaraderie is free but, if you wish to join the club for lunch, the normal Senior Center fee of $6 will apply.
