The Hancock County Democratic Executive Committee held their monthly meeting June 20th at B4 Burgers in Weirton. Chairman Kathy Link called the meeting to order, welcoming those attendance. Silent attendance was taken. Chair Link led the Pledge of Allegiance. The Secretary’s report was read and approved. There was no Treasurer’s report, in that, the Treasurer was absent. It was decided by both the executive committee and the democratic women that the August summer picnic be cancelled. However, the winter fundraiser which is tentatively set for January, 2024 will still be held. Further information to be forthcoming at the July meeting.. As the meeting was adjourned, it was noted that the next meeting will be held at 5;00 p.m. July 18th in the downstairs of B4 Burgers, Weirton Following the Executive Committee meeting at 6:15 P.M., the Hancock County Democratic Women assembled for their monthly meeting. All information pertaining to the Annual Meeting on September 15th to 17th at Holiday Inn in Weirton was tabled until the July 18th meeting. It was decided by both the executive committee and the democratic women that the August summer picnic be cancelled. Tara Shepherd, Program Administrator of the Community Bread Basket located at Phillips St., Weirton, will be our speaker at the July 18th meeting. Quilt tickets are available for sale at $1.00 a ticket before the Annual Meeting in September. If anyone is interested contact President McCombs at (304) 723-0290.
