BOARD OF EDUCATION HANDLES PERSONNEL ISSUES

The Hancock County Board of Education met in regular session Monday, August 14 to deal with personnel issues prior to the start of school. The Board accepted the resignation of former superintendent Dawn Petrovich who has opted to retire. With over 30 years in the system in a variety of teaching and administrative capacities, Petrovich had the option to seek another position but opted to retire.

In other business, the Board:

**Approved adding two days to the beginning of the school year for Haley Auld, school counselor, to assist Oak Glen Middle principal with scheduling;

**Approved teaching in lieu of planning period for Sara Brown, ECCAT, Oak Glen/Weir High’

**Accepted resignations from Julie Zoellers, Assistant Volleyball Coach, Oak Glen High, and Rachel Wright McKey, Assistant Softball, Oak Glen High;

**Assigned Patrick McGillan as Head Wrestling coach, Oak Glen Middle;

**Assigned Haley Davis, Supervisory Aide/ECCAT, Tayler Davis, Supervisory Aide/ECCAT, and Crystal Tice, Supervisory Aide/ECCAT, all at Weirton Elementary;

**Assigned Trisha Barile, substitute Supervisory Aide II-IV, Weirton Elementary School.
