HOMETOWN NEWS is increasing its ability to add innovative programs and enhance its ability to cover community news important to its readers ………while adding to family ownership. Abbi Elliott has joined the publication as Operations Manager/Owner. She joins her mother, Shannon Sayre, who is Editor/Owner and, and her grandmother, Tamara Pettit, Publisher/Owner, in the endeavor,
“It’s important that a newspaper has a handle on what appeals to a wide range of readers” said Tamara. “Abbi brings her expertise, her organizational skills and her up-to-date knowledge about what can be accomplished using the latest technology.”
“We each bring an important skill set to the publication,” said Shannon. “In addition to our newspaper readers, we have a Facebook page with 5,000 members and our newsletter numbers continue to grow, Abbi will bring valuable knowledge in making that work for us while identifying additional opportunities.”
Abbi graduated with highest honors from Oak Glen High School. She graduated in the Honors program from West Liberty University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She worked in business development for Streski Court Reporting in Wheeling and was events coordinator and catering manager at Mountaineer Casino, Resort and Races.
She is married to Brad Elliott and they are the parents of Madilynn and EmIlia.
