Carol Ann Joy, 61 of New Cumberland, WV , passed away suddenly on Wednesday September 6, 2023 at Weirton Medical Center.She was born on December 6, 1961 to Terry E Joy and Shirley (Crummitt) Joy.She was preceded in death by her father in 2003 and her grandparents Harley and Addie Crummitt and Emmett and Garnet Joy.She is survived by her loving mother and best friend Shirley, her two brothers :James (Kimberly) Joy of Weirton, Jason (Missy) Joy and niece Emily Morgan Joy of New Cumberland she is also survived by Several Aunts, Uncles and cousins.Carol attended the Dunbar school in Weirton, WV where after 12 years graduated and went to work for over 30 years at the Hancock County Sheltered Workshop. Carol attended several events and competed several years in the Special Olympics winning several Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. She never missed a chance to get on the news to share her excitement. She was also a member of the New Cumberland Christian church.Carol started Dialysis in June of 2021 but never let that interfere with what she loved. She was an avid shopper loved looking for a new purse, more jewelry, and as many colors of nail polish she could collect. Her favorite store was Bath and Body where she could buy several items so she would always have something to share with anyone who stopped by to visit. Carol loved her butterflies, and you could always find her watching WWF Monday night Raw, the Daily soap operas. She loved country music and Jason Aldean and listening to music and dancing and acting simple with her niece Emily and watching her favorite movies Grease, and Dirty Dancing.Carol was a sweet and loving person who never met a stranger. She welcomed everyone into her life. Everyone she met became a friend and she always shared a smile. Carol will be missed, but will never forget the true Joy she left in everybody’s heart that was blessed to get to know her. Visitation will be held on Sunday September 10, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 and funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 am at Nixon Funeral Home on Ridge Ave New Cumberland WV In memory of Carol The family request any Contributions and Donations be made to :The New Cumberland Christian Church andThe Hancock County Sheltered Workshop
