Goldie “Joyce” Walters, 65, of Hookstown, passed, on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospice Heritage Valley Beaver, following a lengthy illness.

Born, October 14, 1958, in Hoboken, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Florence Haybarger Kirkwood.

Joyce was a graduate of New Castle High School. She attended New Castle School of Cosmetology and became a beautician. Joyce owned and operated her own salon for many years.  She adored her clients and making a woman look her best brought her great joy. Joyce enjoyed spending time outdoors but most importantly spending time with her family.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 30 years, Raymond Walter; daughter, Kelly Hughes and her husband, Christopher of Monaca; son, Aric Walters of Hookstown and grandchildren, Jackson, Sylvia, and Owen Walters, CJ, Stella, and Aiden Hughes and Haleigh Wilson.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Joyce is in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel.
