Another few days of being busy at Lynn Murray Memorial Library this week. We’ve had Allison Elementary students from 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades come to the library, kiddos were here in the evenings for Build Club and Chess Club, we had young ladies in to make Beaded Bracelets on Kids Craft Night, our Quilt Group and Sit & Stitch Group both met, we had Connor come and read to us, and y’all saw Storytime fun already. Busy, busy, busy…..just the way we like it here.
Have ya been wondering what’s coming to the library in the month of November? First of all, who can even believe it’s November?!?! And as November comes around, it brings with it, our WINTER HOURS. We will open every day at 10, as usual. We will close at 4 on Monday, 5 on Tuesday & Wednesday, 6 on Thursday & Friday, and 2 on Saturday.
Now, here’s what we have going on this month. For the kiddos … every Monday from 3-4 is Chess/Game Night, every Tuesday from 3:30-5 is Build Club, Kids Craft Night every Thursday from 4-5:30.
For the adults, we have Health & Wellness Group at 10:30 on Nov 7th. Our Quilt Group meets every Thursday at 3:00. Sit & Stitch Group meets every Friday 11-6.
And then we have some addition classes this month. Nov 10th is a Denim Tree Ornament Class at 1:00 that is FREE of charge.
Nov 14th is our very first Community Cookbook Group. We will meet at 1:30. Our theme for this month is SOUPS. We ask for anyone who comes, to be your recipe, AND the soup for all of us to taste. We’ll begin our Cookbook, that will remain at the library for anyone to add recipes to, or take recipes from. We are really looking to forward to this news program.
Nov 16th is a Card Making Class at 1:00. This class is a pre-registration class and the cost $5.00 which will cover all your supplies.
Nov 18th we’re having a Fabric Tree making class that’ll be $5.00. Please pre-register for this class as well, so we have enough supplies. This class will be at 11:00.
Our last class for the month will be on the 30Th, and it will be a Cookie Cutter Felt Ornament. This will also be a pre-register class for $5.00.
Did you hear about our new COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS Program? We will begin delivering books to those who are unable to get out to the library. Just call in, give us your book requests, and every Saturday afternoon, we’ll get your books to you, and pick up any you need to have returned. We tried this last year with just a few people and it went so well, that we wanna promote it to be able to serve all of our patrons. Please call by Thursday with your requests, so we have enough time to get your books and plan a delivery route.
As you can see, the cold weather isn’t keeping us from being busy. So stop in and see us when ya have the time.
We will be closed Nov 11th for Veterans Day and Nov 23-27 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Be sure to stock up on books so your imagination can take you places you’ve never been, during this colder season.
