Michael E. “Peanie” Duffy, 75

PITTSBURGH – Michael E. “Peanie” Duffy, of New Cumberland, passed away Friday morning, November 10, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital. He was 75.

Born in Minnesota, October 9, 1948, a son of the late James E. and Mary Olive Grafton Duffy, he worked at Mountaineer Resort as the printshop manager until his retirement. Peanie was well known in the area as a talented musician and photographer. He was an East Liverpool High School graduate.

He was preceded by his wife, Karenann K. Duffy, on December 22, 2020. The couple married March 29, 2000. He was also preceded by a brother, John A. Duffy.

Survivors include two daughters, Melanie Duffy-Frederick and her husband, Kevin, of Chester, and Lisa Nichols and her husband, Brad, of Columbus, and three sons, Joshua Duffy and his wife, Jennifer, of Maryland, Seth Duffy and his wife, Cameron, of Columbus, and David Duffy and his wife, Leah, of Huntington, West Virginia, two stepsons, David Widger of Arkansas, and Daniel Widger of Cadiz, Ohio, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by a brother, James A. Duffy.

Rev. Norman Eckert will conduct a funeral service on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit three hours prior to the service from 3 to 6 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
