BASKETBALL ATTENDANCE TROPHY RETAINED BY HANCOCK COUNTY SCHOOLS

East Liverpool City Schools invited Allison Elementary, New Manchester Elementary, Oak Glen Middle School, and Oak Glen High School to an attendance challenge the week leading up to the big rivalry basketball game. The students, parents, and staff of the northern end of Hancock County stepped up to the challenge and won it! Hancock County Schools had a 92.07% attendance rate and East Liverpool City Schools had a 87.86% attendance rate. The attendance director, Ruth Ann Douglass, would like to thank the students, parents and staff for their participation in the challenge. A special thank you to Keegen Harger, an Oak Glen High School student who made the bridge trophy that will be passed on to each school for display. The challenge will be an annual event for the football and basketball games. The trophy will travel to the district that wins the challenge each year. Together, the school districts found a fun way to celebrate the importance of attending school.
Thank you also to East Liverpool City Schools for the invitation. Hancock County Schools enjoyed collaborating with you on this challenge.
