OBITUARY: ARGYLE DILLON, SR.

Argyle L. Dillon Sr. of New Cumberland was called home to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Argyle passed peacefully at the Marliere Hospice House in Spring Hill Florida. 

He was born on October 1, 1934, on Israel Fork Rd near West Union West Virginia. He was 89 years old. His parents were Harry and Armatha LeMasters Dillon.

Argyle toiled for 40 years at Weirton Steel where he retired from the Coke Plant. He was a member of the twenty-five club. Argyle worshiped God at the Paris Nazarene Church where he was active in all facets of the church. Argyle was known for being a prayer warrior for anyone who requested prayer. 

Along with his parents, his wife, Margery Joan Dillon, his son-in-law, Glen Freshour, and his daughter, Becky Freshour, his brothers Edgar Drexal Dillon and his sister Francis Dillon preceded him in death. 

Left with very fond memories are his children, Argyle (Marcy) Dillon Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Larry (Julie) Dillon of Grapevine, TX, Wanda (Gerald) Gray of Cambridge, OH, and Sanda (Allen) Bassett of Brooksville, FL. His brother, Marvin (Diane) Dillon of New Cumberland, and his sister, Harriett (Richard) Chambers of Alabama also survive. Argyle was the proud grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather of fifty-nine. 

Arrangements are in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Memorial services will be held at the Paris Nazarene Church on April 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM
