James Joseph “Jimmy Joe” Tridico, beloved son, and friend to many peacefully passed. away at his winter residence in Zephyrhills, Florida with a brief battle of Cancer, on Monday, April 29, 2024. He was 79 years old.Born on February 18, 1945, in East Liverpool, Ohio, Jimmy Joe was the cherished second son of Anthony V. and Margaret A. LaScola Tridico.Throughout his life, Jimmy Joe embraced his passions with gusto, finding joy in golfing, bocce, bowling and baseball. He was known among friends and family for his love of a fine cigar, indulging in this pleasure regularly.In his earlier years, Jimmy Joe found solace and excitement on the waters of the Ohio River, where he enjoyed boating adventures. A loyal supporter of the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, he cheered passionately for his favorite team. Jimmy enjoyed riding his Honda Gold Wing throughout the area and while he wintered in Florida, making numerous trips to Daytona during bike week. Often teaming up with the Buckeye Travelers and collectively enjoying the sunset at the end of the day.Jimmy Joe graduated from Chester High School in 1963, where he was a standout member of the Basketball and Baseball team. He pursued his higher education at Salem College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in education. Dedicated to shaping young minds, Jimmy Joe embarked on a fulfilling career as an educator in the Ohio Valley. He shared his knowledge and passion for learning with students at East Jr., Wellsville Jr., and Oak Glen Middle Schools. In addition to his teaching duties, Jimmy Joe served as a coach for girls’ basketball teams, inspiring his players both on and off the court.Outside of the classroom, Jimmy Joe contributed his talents to the Ferro Corporation, where he worked diligently, leaving a lasting impact on colleagues and the community. Jimmy Joe also ran The Turf Supper Club for a brief period of time.Jimmy Joe Tridico will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his commitment to education, and his zest for life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.In addition to his parents, Jimmy Joe was preceded in death by his brother Phillip V. Tridico.Left to cherish his memory is his loving cousin, who was more like a sister to him, Margaret “Maggie” LaScola McCormack (Doug) of Chester, and several cousins from the LaScola, Bernardi, Marino, and Tridico families.Friends may visit Jimmy Joe’s family on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 2-4 PM and 5-7 PM, until the time of the service at 7:00 PM, at the Arner Funeral Chapel, 607 Carolina Ave., Chester, WV., 26034.
