Family matriarch, Eileen M. McAvoy of Chester passed Wednesday, August 21, after a long healthy life.
Eileen was born on June 10, 1930, in East Liverpool. She was 94 years old. Eileen was the daughter of the late Theodore and Elizabeth Simballa Milby.
Eileen was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald E. McAvoy, and by her brothers, Paul, Bob, and Bill Milby.
She was a graduate of Chester High School Class of 1948. Eileen formerly worked as a telephone operator in Chester. She proudly owned and operated, along with her husband Don, Valley View Grocery Store.
Eileen was a faithful lifetime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and past member of the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed bowling and attending card club.
Eileen will be deeply missed by her son, Randy McAvoy and his wife, Trudy of New Cumberland; daughters, Vicky Snider of New Cumberland, Theresa Barnhart and her husband, Don of New Cumberland and Sandy Lascola and her husband, Mike of Columbus; brother, Ted Milby of San Diego, CA. and sister-in-law, Peg Milby of New Cumberland; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Father Bill Matheny will preside for the Catholic Funeral Liturgy at Sacred Heart Church on Monday, August 26 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Sunday from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The Rosary will be recited at the Arner Funeral Chapel on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
