No special potions or magic wands needed, a Magic Garden can be found in New Cumberland thanks to a group of dedicated volunteers with an idea that a community garden could flourish in the town. The idea was the brainchild of Maureen and Howard Vulgamore, who spearheaded the movement. The property in Upper Town was secured and this is what the volunteers began with.
Residents were invited to take a plot and be responsible for planting and maintaining their little garden. Master gardeners gave classes to novice gardeners on how to nourish and grow their piece of land. Challenges have presented themselves this year as a hungry dears have found their way to the garden. City Council donated $2,000.00 towards a fence for next year.
