The Hancock County Board of Education approved assignments for the school year at its Sept 23rd meeting. Personnel recommendations approved included the following:
**Assignments were approved for Sydney Doughty, substitute teacher, countywide; Cristen Bridges, substitute teacher, countywide; and Amber Marino, substitute teacher/school nurse;
**Mentor assignments were approved for the following: JDRIV Career Center – Wendy DeAngelis; WEIR MIDDLE: Mary Lyons, Kristen Kuntupis, Annette Littleton; OAK GLEN MIDDLE -Tammy Fields and Bethany Fernbaugh; ALLISON ELEMENTARY – Valerie Dawson; WEIRTON ELEMENTARY – Kayla Violet, Kathleen Nail, Jennifer Curtis, Jackie Fodor, Michelle Hall, Suzy Mastrantoni, Sherry Paull; WEIR HIGH – Lisa Burk, Carrie Gillette and Mary Ciszek; OAK GLEN HIGH – Adam Howell, Rachelle Jenkins;
**Teaching in lieu of planning periods were approved for Brooke Haynes, Math, Grade 7, Oak Glen Middle; Tammi Brown, Math, Grade 7th period, Oak Glen Middle; Cindy Kovalcik, Math Grade 7 (9th period) Oak Glen Middle; April Corbin, Math, Weir High;
**Accepted the resignation of Adam Davis as Head Boys’ Track, Oak Glen Middle;
**Approved a leave of absence for Megan Ost as Assistant Girls Basketball, Weir Middle;
**Transferred T. J. Haught from Assistant Boys’ Basketball, Weir Middle (unpaid volunteer), to Assistant Boys Soccer, Weir High;
**Coaching assignments were approved at OAK GLEN MIDDLE – Assistant Girls Track – Laci Growe and Rachel Hartley; WEIR MIDDLE – Assistant Boys Basketball – Jason Meneely (unpaid/volunteer) and Assistant Boys Track – Joe Jimboy;
**Extra Curricular Assignment transfer was approved for Mandy McGeehan from Sophomore Class Sponsor, Oak Glen High, to Senior Class Sponsor, Oak Glen High;
** Resignation was accepted for Sara Jackson as Weir High Class 27 co-sponsor;
**Austin Haught was approved as custodian II, Weir High;
**Lauren Szydlowski was approved as a supervisory aide/AM at Weir High
**Resignations were accepted from Audra Pernell, substitute cook, county wide, Odessa Hores, substitute aide, countywide; Ronald Dunlap,, mechanic; and Paul Goglar Multi-Cat./Autism, Weir HighWeir
**Weir High was granted permission to form an Entrepreneurship Club;
**Hancock County Schools entered into a meals contract with Northern Panhandle Head Start, Weirton Heights Daycare and the Children’s Academy;
**Oak Glen Volleyball was granted permission to travel to the quad match at Mussleman High School.
