OBITUARY: Jeanette R. Loar

Jeanette R. Loar of Chester passed at the East Liverpool City Hospital on Monday, October 1, 2024.

She was born April 11, 1938, in Lacroft, Ohio to Harold and Anna Jordan Blankenship.

Jeanette worked for many years at the Waterford Inn, later known as Mountaineer Lodge, as front desk supervisor and night auditor.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Russell Loar of Chester. They were married on August 26, 1956, shortly after graduating from New Cumberland High School.

 Her seven siblings, James, Robert, Roy, and Thomas Blankenship, and Leona Gryskevich, Hazel Manypenny, and Helen Gibbs Detrick preceded her in death.

In addition to her husband, Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Leah Ann of New Cumberland, Carol (Dee) (Al King) of York, PA, and Tara Beth (Robert) House of Chester, grandchildren, Heather (Dave) Anderson of Chester, Sarah House (Jesse Gonzalez) of Lawrenceville, Anna House of Chester, Mindy Mays (Colby Blystone) of Lawrenceville, and Dustin Mays of Maryland, as well as great-grandchildren, Brandon, Nathan, Desmond, and Charlie.

Per Jeanette’s wishes, there will be no services. She is in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. The family would like to thank the East Liverpool City Hospital and Buckeye Hospice staff for the care and support provided during the past two weeks.
