NEW CUMBERLAND USHERS IN THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH CHRISTMAS PARADE DEC. 14

The small town of New Cumberland will transform into the tiny town of Whoville with the theme of their lighted Christmas Parade “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” on December 14. Lineup for the parade is 5 p.m. at Fuccy’s Field, The parade will start at 6 p.m. and travel down Ridge Avenue to the Fireman’s Field. Cindy Lou Who and the citizens of Whoville will make an appearance at the parade and the Grinch is rumored to make his presence known.

The Turley Family will act as Grand Marshall of this year’s parade. Turley Funeral Home has been in business for 80 years in New Cumberland and has been a mainstay of the community.

Santa Claus will be in the parade and then move to the Old City Building where he will meet with children. There will be free hot chocolate, cookies, candy, hats and gloves in the City Garage. Oak Glen High School band and chorus will entertain at the pavilion right after the parade. The Memorial Christmas Tree Walk down River Avenue is a beautiful sight to see.
