Since being awarded the bid to be the concessionaire for Kennedy Marina, Ted and Patrick Arneault are sharing their plans for the 13-acre site. The two brothers are not unfamiliar with taking a vision to reality when it comes to developing a facility. During their tenure, Mountaineer blossomed from a racetrack into a full-scale resort and entertainment complex.
Their plans include a West Virginia-themed 1,300 to 1,500-square-foot restaurant. According to Patrick, the restaurant will be family friendly and will be constructed of timber and stone. Live entertainment will be featured. The menu will include local flavor, pepperoni rolls and deli-style sandwiches along with crisp, fresh salads and much more. West Virginia local brews and beverages will be offered along with other craft beer,
“We are currently looking into optimizing the number of RV spots,” said Patrick. “Currently there are over 50 depending upon how we configure.”
“As West Virginia tourism continues to grow and develop, the potential to expand water- based activities is great,” said Ted. “The Ohio River has long been a great resource in Hancock County and we’re looking forward to working with the Division of Tourism and the County Commission, to ensure it reaches its maximum potential.”
