If you live in New Cumberland, make sure to make time to vote tomorrow. Voters will decide on the Mayor who will lead the City for the next four years. That’s an important job, and with the potential to revitalize the city both economically and aesthetically the candidate elected will have a challenging task before him. An ordinance change to the City’s charter is on the ballot which raises the Mayor’s salary from $2,400/annum to $4,800/annum. That’s $400 a month and is a step towards compensating the Mayor for the many responsibilities he performs. Please, vote yes. While the salary is not the overriding factor in a citizen’s decision to run for Mayor, it’s an important factor.
The City of New Cumberland will hold its Municipal Election Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Voting will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 pm. at the New Cumberland Volunteer Fire Dept. The only contested race is for Mayor, a four-year term. Incumbent Mayor Will White will face Councilman Mike Watkins. All Council positions are uncontested.
