There are a number of volunteers out there working really hard on their community projects. Whether it’s a fundraiser or an activity for the community, one of the biggest challenge is getting the word out to the public. There’s a saying in the newspaper business “once is news, twice buy an ad.” We always run articles on your event or fundraiser, but that’s one time, We also know that organizations’ budgets are small and advertising can be expensive.
So, we asked ourself, “How can we help” and we think we came up with a great way. Beginning today, we will offer organizations one free digital ad to run each day until the event/fundraiser. The great thing about the ad is that you provide us with a link back to your Facebook page, registration page, or information and we will link you ad to that.
Our first recipient of the free ad is the Hancock County 4-H Foundation who in conjunction with the 4-H All Stars are sponsoring a Golf Scramble to raise funds for the upkeep of Camp Aura in August.
How does your event get considered? Simply send your project to ourhometownnews@yahoo.com. We will need a digital ad and the information for the link. It’s our way of giving back to the community that supports Hometown News.
