The West Virginia Public Service Commission (PSC) has recommended the West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council approve Tomlinson PSD’s request for $5 million from the Distressed Utilities Account.
The evidentiary hearing slated for October 29, 2025 has been cancelled per Tomlinson PSD’s request.
Tomlinson had been ordered to take over the failing Newell Water Company which was a privately-owned water company. Homer Laughlin (now Fiesta Tableware) owned both the water and sewage companies for the unincorporated community of Newell, but divested itself of both companies as the company struggled to stay viable in the face of foreign competition.
