FIDELIS GAMMA APRIL 2, 2026 MEETING
The Fidelis Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary Organization for Women Educators met at Eat ‘n Park in Weirton, WV, on April 2, 2026, with 13 members present.
President Susan Cullinan welcomed the members. Elaine McClung led the group in the pledge to the flag, and she read an inspirational reading entitled “Worry and Dread.”
Secretary Ruth Fuller read the minutes from the March meeting, and the minutes were approved. Treasurer Caroline Allison gave the financial report.
Altruistic Chairman Patty Ferris distributed a form, so the members could record their volunteer hours, monetary and non-monetary amounts. The members are collecting coloring books, crayons, and colored pencils to be donated both to the Pediatric Unit at WVU Medicine, in Weirton, WV, and the local schools.
By-Law Committee members Donna Durkin and Crystal Baranowski led a discussion on the scholarship to be given to a Brooke County student this spring.
President Cullinan gave special thanks to Carolyn Allison and Ruth Fuller for their devoted help this biennium.
Fraternity Education Chairman Janet Benzo presented a “Founder Fact” for the founders Agnes Shipman Robertson, Marie Neal, Marion Southall, and Hattie Popino. Members matched a founder of Alpha Delta Kappa with a fact.
Scholarship Chairman Liz Pugh and member Sandi Anderson will collect the scholarship applications from Brooke High School, and they will select the qualified applicant.
Under New Business: Committee members President Cullinan and Ruth Fuller presented the slate of officers for the 2026-2028 biennium. The members voted for the slate of officers, and the officers will be inducted at the May meeting.

President Cullinan recognized Elaine McClung’s membership of 35 years in Alpha Delta Kappa.
President Cullinan will attend the State Convention at Pipe Stem, WV, on April 24-26, 2026.
The hostesses for the meeting were Shirley Washam, Ruth Fuller, and Nancy Holdsworth. The hostesses for the May 7, 2026, meeting will be Nancy Conley, Bonnie Queses, and Donna Roman.
The meeting was adjourned with the singing of “The Lamp of Alpha Delta Kappa.”
